About the Owner
Hi! I’m Kate Holly, yoga therapist/life coach/theater artist/mother and Founder of Yoga Refuge. I have had the honor of teaching yoga at some of Portland’s great studios over the last 15 years, and in 2014 I decided to take a leap of faith and create my own space, based on the dreams I have about the role a yoga studio can play in the lives of individuals and community. I have an MFA in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University and have devoted most of my adult life to making original works of theater in a collaborative setting. For me, creative process as well as contemplative practice are inseparable from what I experience as yoga, and a yoga studio is similar to a theater in that both are places of meaning-making, ritual, community and exploration of self. Aesthetics are also very important to me, and I strive to create a world within our studio that will feel like a delightful retreat from the stress of daily life.
I am here to serve my community, and I welcome your questions, comments and feedback about the studio. Please feel free to contact me anytime at firstname.lastname@example.org.
