A transformational, accredited 200-hr Teacher Training at Yoga Refuge

March 19th-July 26th, 2020 

Yoga Conservatory is an innovative and transformative yoga teacher training program, developed by yoga teacher, theater artist and life coach, Kate Holly (ERYT-500, MFA in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University), and co-taught by a team of Portland’s best yoga teachers. Our non-dogmatic and interdisciplinary approach to yoga brings a therapeutic orientation while examining the intersection of creativity, self-inquiry , trauma sensitivity and social justice with yoga.

Yoga Conservatory offers a rich and comprehensive training for yogis who aspire to begin teaching as a new career path, for students who want to go deeper with their own practice and personal transformation, as well as therapists, social workers, artists, performers, educators and other professionals who would like to integrate the power of yoga into their work.

What is a Conservatory?

One definition of a conservatory is an immersive school for the arts, where students are able to master their craft in the safe container of support and nurturance built by their teachers.  Its a school that holds space for both rigorous dedication to practice, and encouragement to experiment, step outside the comfort zone and potentially fail.

Another definition of a conservatory is a beautiful glass greenhouse or sunroom, filled with plants. They are also places for growth and beauty to occur within a safe container.

The intention with Yoga Conservatory is to create an environment where students grow and thrive like plants, practice, make meaning and experiment like artists, and feel safe, supported and nurtured by the container of our program every step of the way.
